A lot of people that are unemployed are not aware of all the services that their county offers on how to find a job. Many counties have full service programs to help people finds jobs. If you have been out of the workforce for a while and don’t know hoe to find a job in the current market, make sure to go down to your local unemployment office and ask about any programs the city offers to help people get back on their feet. In my county, the first day I went down there, I had to take a quiz to find my ideal job which was then followed by another battery of test to check my language and math skills. They also had a huge bank of jobs for me t peruse and see if any caught my eye. The coolest thing was that the county would train you and even pay for an associate degree just to get you back in the work force. The office has a free resume builder that anyone could use at any time and then they had someone in house that could look at your resume after you were done with it. The office also had about 10 computers hooked up to the internet where people could go in any time and find jobs online in site like Monster or Yahoo Jobs. If you are on the search for your next big chance make sure you drop by your government office and you might be surprised although checking jobs online should be your first line of attack. |
